Electronic Data Collection

Specific Capabilities
  • Provides services, tools and equipment to facilitate data entry and cataloging in the field.
  • Custom software adaptable to project needs targets mobile devices to help minimize field equipment.
  • Involves data synchronization with project databases in the office.
  • Establishes and enforces work flow processes, data collection business rules and validation.
  • Web-based portal provides project data access, administration, analytical and reporting tools.

Electronic data collection encompasses data entry, storage and synchronization in field scenarios such as those often required during environmental field investigations, surveys, construction and other activities conducted by a mobile workforce where portable and lightweight equipment is essential. Project data is catalogued, stored, transmitted and reconciled with a centralized project database where it can be available to project team members in near real-time. Electronic data collection solutions target mobile devices such as GPS units, PDA/Smart phones and can synchronize with many other devices such as tablet and laptop PCs and fixed-base servers.

In addition, the ISG staff provides procurement, acquisition, device setup, data processing, and image recording services for electronic field data collection activities. The ISG has experience post-processing GPS data, preparing spatial data, imaging and aerial photographs for upload to GPS units, enabling field crews to collect data accurately and efficiently while locating desired targets and sites . The ISG also administers a web-based portal that contains planning, collection, management, reporting, and collaboration tools for project team members to access, track, extract, analyze and manage data for each field project.
