The ISG database staff has extensive experience in database design, conversion and requirements analysis. Microsoft SQL Server is our primary Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) engine, but we work with a variety of other databases including Microsoft Access and Oracle. Staff members have facility in database construction, conversion from legacy systems, and ongoing maintenance of existing systems. This involves taking unstructured, unpredictable data from various non-standardized sources and transforming that data to make it consistent, complete, and accurate. We customize models based on existing database structure or modify existing database structures to meet unique GIS and data reporting requirements.

The ISG has addressed data management needs for various projects by employing a “cradle-to-grave” approach. This entails assessing where the data is coming from, who is using it, how it is being used, how it is securely stored, how it is being accessed, and how it is archived. In addition, our group is experienced in creating custom reports that support the project demands including various statistical analyses, temporal trend analysis, risk assessment, and site mapping that are required for the preparation of an investigative report. The goal of the ISG database staff is to optimize access to client information by storing data in an efficient relational database.
